Groomsmen

Tiffany LemonsTiffany Lemons

Tiffany is my roommate. We have roomed together for the past 2 years at Lipscomb. Our first encounter was in Greek class my freshman year, where she, and the rest of the class including the teacher, always made fun of me for being late to class because I was talking to Patrick; but what can I say? I liked him and I could not deny it. We are both Bible majors, and have a blast studying and discussing related topics, founding the Lemon Teeth Gang, camping, and hanging out together.

I went home with Tiffany to Cairo, NY this past spring break, and met her friends and family there. We also spent a few days in New York City, shopping, eating and NOT seeing the sights. We currently spend our time watching Full House during lunch, cooking and brushing our teeth together. We are both so busy we don't spend much one-on-one time, but when we do it is always great.

Joseph DunklemanJoseph Dunkleman

Joseph and I met soon after moving into the High Rise dorm as freshmen. Joe lived next door to me, and was a constant "guest" in my room...especially after he discovered that his roommate watched him while he (Joseph) slept. The meals, arguments, road trips, debates, pizzas, good times, Mario Kart races (and I'm talking vintage Mario Kart, here), stupid jokes, days of service and worship, pranks and post-midnight hours we have shared are innum-erable, and each one is a treasured memory.

You might be wondering what a "Dunkle" is...and I'd have to join you in wondering. Come to our wedding and you can ask Joe what he thinks. But I can tell you what this Dunkle-man is. Joseph is a gem--some might say "in the rough," but isn't that just how God creates them? All who know Joseph well know just how insightful, loving, caring and just plain adorable he is!! Our friendship is irreplaceable, and I have missed him these past years.

If you've visited our site recently (or the What's New? page, you might have noticed that this is a new picture of Joseph. Allison and I bumped into him at Winterfest in Gatlinburg this February--which was a TOTALLY wonderful surprise!!!

Angela MeyerAngela Meyer

Angela and I have been friends for about 8 years. We went to the same church and high school in Memphis , where we sang together in the chorus. She is not related to Oscar Meyer, like some might think, but I do think she likes him. Most of the time I spend with Angela is spent laughing. She is funny! Our relationship was built mostly at church activities, like camp, where we worked together as camp counselors for two years for the graduating high school class of 2007. We love you girls!!

One of our goals as camp counselors, besides helping our girls grow spiritually, was to have the best cabin ever, where we even went to the extent of lugging 6 cement, homemade blocks to camp in a suitcase. We had made these blocks look like the bricks in Hollywood with the hand prints and the girls' names on them. When we unpacked them you should have seen the looks on the faces of the boys who carried the suitcase all the way to our cabin. And once, at a sleepover, I was talking to Angela but not looking at her…and when I looked up, there were stickers all over Angela's face. This is just one of the crazy things she likes to do in her spare time.

Bart NormanBart Norman

Bart is a gentle soul and a man of strong character. A few minutes spent with him are enough to tell you that. He and his dear wife, Kristen (dear to both me and him), have been constant comforters, encouragers and prayers for me. Bart and I have grown together during many hours of prayer, meditation and earnest sharing of hearts--although we have not always been physically proximate during those times.

In recent months, Allison & I have been able to join B & K in their "Young Marrieds" Life Group...which is a little incongruous because we're not married, and I'm always the oldest person in the room... But, seriously, spending more time with these friends has made life more lively and livable. Thank you, God, for such a community of believers and encouragers! Thank you, Father, for friends!!

Bart and Kristen are celebrating a growing addition to their family! Elijah Kael Norman made his big solo entrance Saturday, February 9!!! Radiant mother, proud father and itsy (but growing!!) baby are all doing well, and little Elijah is super cute!!

Barton, Elijah and Kristen!! Yay!

Mary MoranoMary Morano

I have known Mary since the third grade. I met her when my family moved into our current home, just down the street from Mary's house. At first, we were not too interested in being friends, but after we got to know one another, we were inseparable for the next 8 years-until Mary went off to college. In our younger days, we liked to swing on the Keeton's tire swing, ride bikes, rollerblade while listening to Savage Garden, clean our rooms, dance while eating late at night, play outside with our other neighborhood friends, watch movies and have sleepovers.

Mary & I liked to think of fun new ways to stay in trouble, and we were good at it. We used to talk to each other from our houses using walkie-talkies and mail each other crazy gifts even though we lived two houses away. It was great!! These days our visits are rare, but when we do get to see each other we still enjoy being creative with our time.

Jesse SavageJesse Savage

When I first met Jesse, he was one of two younger brothers of a Savage I already knew. I became acquainted with his musical abilities and sharp intellect over the next few years, eventually working as his RA in the dorm. But it was not until we spent two years together in a college Life Group at Otter Creek that I really got to know his heart and get the whole picture-and I wished that I had found this friend sooner.

I love and admire Jesse's honesty and his passionate, energetic dedication. I count Jesse and his wife, Jessica, among my dearest, truest friends, and they were both present nearly every day of the first seven months of my relationship with Allison.

Jesse and Jessica are also part of our "Young Marrieds" Life Group at Otter Creek, and Jesse will be standing with me on June 16 as my Best Man.

Tara TurnerTara Turner

Tara and I became friends in high school, and she also went to church at White Station. We sang together in our school chorus and sat together at lunch most days. We traveled together to The Village of Hope in Ghana (West Africa) and worked with the children there for 2 weeks with our youth group. We came back changed, realizing that God had been touching us. Tara and my relationship is mainly a God relationship where almost everything we share has to do with our relationship with God and how we are growing and/or struggling.

It's one of those relationships that stays strong no matter how much time goes by without us talking. Besides sharing our hearts, we also love getting in boxes & bathtubs...especially during tornadoes! Tara and I will both be getting married the same summer.

Brad SullivanBrad Sullivan

Brad was my first roommate. We actually managed to not meet each other for about a week, after moving into the same dorm room...but when we did, a lifelong friendship was born. We have spent many an hour - at every hour of the day - discussing, debating and sharing; or throwing a frisbee or some other outdoor adventure. In the summer of 2005, I was proud to stand with Brad as he married his bride, Jenny.

Brad comes from a long line of folks who "keep it real," and that tradition continues in him. Through life's storms, we have borne each other's burdens, given & asked for forgiveness, confessed weakness and sought truth. My brother, you are a true and faithful warrior, and I am proud to call you Friend.

Melissa YacoubianMelissa Yacoubian

Melissa is one of my oldest friends. We have known each other since we were 4 years old, in Mrs. Brenda's class. We have managed to keep in touch throughout the past 17 years. In high school we played soccer together, where we liked to complain about not liking to run. Melissa stayed in Memphis for college, and I enjoy getting to see her whenever I go home to visit my family. We like to get together for dessert when I am in town and catch up with each other.

She went with my mother, grandmother and me to Brinkley, Arkansas to buy my wedding dress this past July. We had a great time sharing the car ride, breakfast, shopping, and lunch. We also got a great deal on my dress. Most of my time with Melissa lately has been bridesmaid's dress shopping and trying to decide what dresses to go with. Thanks for all your help!

Drew WintersDrew Winters

Drew and I go back farther than almost anyone I can call a friend. Long ago in the dark ages of man, we met when his family began attending the Campus View church in Athens, GA. The one clear memory I have of that era was my attempt to disguise myself as Drew-so as not to be recognized while running around the building during a potluck meal-by wetting my hair from the water fountain and spiking it in front.

For a time, my family left that church, but when we returned, Drew was still there. He and I bonded with a love of all things electronic and a genuine desire to effect change in this world. We have spent hundreds of hours delving into mysteries and questions and many things we which--and likely few others--found particularly interesting, typically over caffeinated beverages and a game. I love you, man!
